Is the MS Accountancy program fit for those without a background in accounting?

Yes! Our program welcomes career changers and those who are looking to break into the accounting field. If you do not have a prior accounting degree, you will take 9 credits of foundational courses to prepare for the MS in Accountancy program content. You will take a 5 credit Intermediate Accounting Survey self-paced course with up to 16 weeks to complete. You will then take the self-paced Audit Accounting Survey and Management and Cost Accounting Survey for 2 credits each over an 8-week period of time. After successful completion of the foundational courses you are ready to start the program!

  • Official transcripts reflecting completion of a baccalaureate or more advanced degree from a United States regionally accredited or equivalent post-secondary institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or a 2.75 GPA in the last 60 credits. Students who do not meet the 2.5 GPA requirement may still be considered for conditional admissions.
